Proclamation of Faith
“who spent his college years not indulging in any of the worldly pleasures afforded to Heisman Trophy winners…This is a young man with such a strong work ethic that, according to teammates, he can’t even be coaxed into hitting the town on a night after a Broncos win, because he is too busy preparing for the next week’s game.”
Remember when you were like this? Tebow maintains this disposition. He is unfaltering. His faith is strong. He can not fail.
Medical Specialties
It is so difficult to choose a medical specialty. Here is a list of specialties I am interested in:
Dermatology
Radiology
Opthalmology
Anesthesiology
Emergency
Internal Medicine
Surgery
Pediatrics
Having finished listing these, I realize how immature I am in my ability to express thoughts and opinions. I apologize for not being able to elaborate on this. I hope this improves with time and I hope I can write something with a little more substance in the future.
Anonymity
Hello. This is my very first blog post on wordpress. I have considered joining for some time and am excited to now be able to post my thoughts and share them. I hope to maintain anonymity throughout this endeavor but I know that this is quite impossible.
I realize that there is much room for improvement in the expression of my thoughts. I hope I can learn that over time and gain the interest of virtual visitors.
How should I begin? Well, I have in fact been keeping a blog since the beginning of this year. I might as well share some of my writing from that until I am inspired to write something more interesting. Here are some of my previous thoughts:

The way I see it, life is a game. Games are fun. However, you can’t mess up. You must avoid the crash that ends the game. Talking to D____, I realize how quickly time flies and how easy it is to mess up. One mistake and it’s over. One mistake and you are a failure. You can be incredibly successful and happy. But if you make a single mistake, you ruin the rest of your life. Do you realize this? That one mistake can change your entire life? Sure, you may know more than A____’s Dad and maybe even L____ about the intricacies of this small medical school educational process. But you don’t have the decades of knowledge and experience that they have. You are young and naïve. Only a few years removed from high school. Your development is delayed because you haven’t been in the real world and experienced life’s hardships. You’ve been in an ivory tower. They are are telling you from experience that life is fragile. It’s precious. And that a single event can make or break you. I was blessed and fortunate enough to pray that this year would be transformative and change my life for the better. It has. It will forever leave an imprint on my life, far beyond my step 1 score which will also be dramatically improved from what it would have been. This event (this year) will ultimately steer my life in a completely opposite direction and path from which it would have gone.
One mistake and you lose everything. Remember undergard. One mistake and you lose your scholarship and you are back to V_______. Just like that and you can lose it all. Time will fly by. You know this.
With this knowledge, what do you need to do now?
Every minute is precious. I cannot waste it. Time will fly. Next thing I know I will be in residency with no time or with a family and kids with no time and I can no longer achieve the things that I want to achieve in this life. It is incredibly important that you heed your elder’s advice and do the right thing.
Here are the tasks you need to ace in order to move on to the next step:
1) Dr. P_____’s Course
2) Step 1 examination
3) 2nd Semester Course
4) Dr. V_______
5) Research and presentations
6) Medical school clerkships
7) Residency applications and interviewing
8) Research completion and Distinction thesis
9) Internship
10) Residency clinical acumen and Research endeavors
11) Rapport and Mentor/Mentee relationships with residents and attending physicians (Future colleagues)
12) Fellowship research and teaching
13) Family
14) Faculty position
15) Presentations and Grant writing
16) Research and Teaching
17) Mission trips, Skiing, Fishing, Volleyball
18) Raising children
19) Maintaining family
20) Giving back to Parents and relatives
21) Counseling younger generations
22) Dr. P_____ – enjoy life
23) Further Fellowship Training and Keeping up with modern techniques
It appears that this blog will be more for myself than for others. It’s where I can put down my thoughts in times of inspiration. I hope it doesn’t get me in trouble.
